She put an egg in my hand
It was still very warm
"I just got it from the henhouse"
She said with eyes that shone

"We don't have a henhouse" I said
I made her angry; she called me Thom
And then she yelled
"These eyes of yours are all wrong"

So I walked to the merchant’s
I could still hear her cries
And I traded the egg
For a pair of new eyes.
